The UNC Summer Jazz Workshop kicked off today in Kenan Music Building and Hill Hall promptly at 9 AM. After the initial auditions on Monday, each day will be accompanied by extended improvisation and history instruction, in addition to time set aside for playing in numerous ensembles. Be sure to join us tonight on the steps of Hill Hall to see the Stephen Anderson trio playing alongside jazz vocalist Kate McGarry at 7 PM. All concerts, including the one tonight, are free and open to the public.
